A Campaign Sign at "Prairie Pumpkin Patch"

Good morning District 27. Fall is my favorite time of year. Crisp mornings, the fall foliage, the sweet taste of pumpkin ice cream, corn picking, the first day of pheasant season, Halloween, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and my birthday all fall within this time of year.

This fall I am hoping I have time to take in Prairie Pumpkin Patch at the farm of Paul and Gail Winter west of Martin on Allen Road (29007 209th Avenue) to check out all the fun activities and try her newly designed corn maze. I have known Gail for years. As a substitute teacher in the Bennett County School District for five years, I had the pleasure of teaching in Mrs. Winter's classroom. I always had fun teaching her second graders. Her class of students is what inspired me to work on a master's degree in elementary education. It's a laughing joke when I kid Gail that someday, I plan to teach her second graders when she retires from the profession.

I am honored to have Gail and Paul host one of my campaign signs at their Prairie Pumpkin Patch this year. I stopped by their farm earlier this summer and Gail was busy mapping out the corn maze when I asked if I could have them host one of my signs during her fall pumpkin festival. She gladly accepted my request to put a jumbo sign up at their farm. I said to Gail, "My campaign sign fits well within your fall color scheme." So those of you who are heading out to the farm on Saturday and Sundays between 12 noon and 4 PM from September 21 to October 27, will be "treated" (welcomed) to the farm with my sign thanks to my supporters Gail and Paul Winter. Enjoy this beautiful fall weekend. God bless.
