Exposing the Corruption Within Our Political System

Good afternoon District 27. Today I thought I would expose the truth about my opponent since I have exhausted all other avenues to get the South Dakota Secretary of State, the South Dakota Attorney General, the Fall River County State's Attorney, an attorney from the U.S. Department of Justice District Office in Sioux Falls, and the Secretary of State of Colorado to discipline the incumbent state senator from District 27. Many of you are aware that my opponent claims she is from Pine Ridge; however, my investigation has uncovered a trail of corruption and election interference that one can only imagine.

Regardless of party affiliation, the voters of the district need to coalesce behind one candidate who will put an end to this corrupt behavior. An elected official ought to know better and maintain a high standard of ethical conduct and integrity. Any legislator who has not taken the necessary measures to nullify or void their previous voter registration from another state and continues to receive a ballot sent to their primary residence is fraudulent activity and further demonstrates the weakness in the integrity of our state and local elections. We found out last week how vulnerable the voting system is in the State of Colorado when 12 mailed ballots were stolen and three of the stolen ballots were counted in the upcoming November 5th General Election. Click on this link to learn more about the fraudulent voter activity in Colorado: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/12-colorado-mail-ballots-were-stolen-and-filled-out-3-of-them-were-counted/ar-AA1sSpnc?ocid=msedgntp&pc=DCTS&cvid=568f0d139b5c4a75ac8c883e3c45f774&ei=16#comments.

On March 10, 2024, I contacted the Colorado Office of the Secretary of State at (303) 894-2200 and spoke with an employee named Jennifer within the State Election Division. Jennifer informed me it is the responsibility of the voter to update their voter registration if they should move to another state. She further explained to me that if the voter failed to vote in two entire election cycles (4 years), the voter registration system is automatically triggered to move the voter’s registration from an “active” to an “inactive” status. She further stated that the voter’s registration would be put in “inactive” status when a mailed ballot or notice is returned to the county auditor’s office because the voter no longer resides at the address on record. Jennifer shared with me that a ballot would not be mailed to a voter once their voter registration has been placed in an “inactive” status. She also explained to me that it is illegal to cast a vote in more than one state and she recommended that I contact the Office of the Attorney General (AG) of either state where the illegal voting activity is occurring to allow the AG to perform an investigation. However, she reminded me that the State of Colorado is not allowed to put a voter’s registration in “inactive” status based on information provided by the general public.

This IS the problem. I have reached out to all of our elected state officials who are to protect the integrity of the voting system in South Dakota. One would think that the Secretary of State from both Colorado and South Dakota would reach out to one another to determine if voter fraud is occurring in either state. Neither of the two secretaries will do anything about it, although the Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, a Democrat, argued last week in her press conference calling the incident “unfortunate but sought to reassure people Colorado's elections are safe and secure.” How is it possible that Colorado’s elections are safe and secure if an incumbent state senator in South Dakota received a general election ballot sent to her primary residence in Colorado on Friday, October 11, 2024? Moreover, how was it possible that she also received a March 5, 2024, Colorado Super Tuesday presidential primary election ballot while she was actively engaged in legislative duties in Pierre? This corruption needs to be stopped but can only be stopped by the voters of this district. The South Dakota Secretary of State's website states that Monae Johnson “is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all voters and the election process in South Dakota” (1). Her office has been a complete failure in protecting the integrity of our elections in South Dakota. Her office would not even acknowledge my affidavit challenging my opponent's nominating petition that was received at her office on March 28, 2024. Click here to read the email correspondence between me and staff personnel at the South Dakota Office of the Secretary of State:  https://www.anthonykathol.com/copy-of-illegal-voter-registration. Finally, the Office of the Attorney General refused to opine on this matter and intentionally waited until after the South Dakota June 4th Primary had started before I would receive an official response to my letter. You can read the letter from the AG's office by clicking here: https://www.anthonykathol.com/_files/ugd/86cebe_c303a5a2f44740f08b0531f123d4dfa9.pdf

I implore and beg all voters to put an end to this corrupt political activity since the South Dakota Secretary of State, the Office of the Attorney General, the Department of Justice, the Fall River County State's Attorney, and the Colorado Secretary of State refuse to do anything about this. The only way to solve this matter is to take this issue up with the court of public opinion, meaning the voters, who will decide the fate of the incumbent state senator since elected officials and the DOJ refuse to do anything about this. I have been shedding light on this matter for months but no one wants to do anything about it. It is time the voters of District 27 weigh in on this issue and get their voice back in our state senate. I urge you to elect Anthony Kathol for District 27 state senate on November 5th. God bless.

The following elected officials refuse to do anything about election interference and corrupt political activities by the Incumbent State Senator from District 27. They do not want to bring charges against her for breaking South Dakota Codified Law §12-18-3. Why don’t they?

Jena Griswold, Colorado Department of State

Sue Gange, Fall River and Oglala Lakota County Auditor

Lance Russell, Fall River and Oglala Lakota County States Attorney

Monae L. Johnson, South Dakota Secretary of State

Marty Jackley, South Dakota Attorney General

Ann Hoffman, U.S. Attorney's Office, District of South Dakota (Sioux Falls)
