Good evening District 27. It has been a long day with 101-degree temps. I spent the day getting more signs up in West Bennett, Long Valley, Wanblee Junction, Interior, and Imlay. Special thanks to Cowboy Corner for the Powerade. It was exactly what I needed to keep me hydrated throughout the rest of the afternoon. Also, thanks to John and Mary Handcock for hosting my sign along Hwy 73 together with many other folks who have been gracious to host a sign to show their support for my grassroots campaign. In the coming weeks, I will put up yard signs for those in the local area who may want one.
I am blessed to live in a beautiful area of Western South Dakota. One thing is for certain: putting up the signs has been a lot of hard work, but when I drive from one part of the district to the other, I can't but think how diverse the landscape is and how fortunate we are to live in this part of the state. While driving, I saw turkeys, prairie dogs, and pronghorn deer. With the days getting shorter, the late afternoon shadows are getting longer. As I was driving. it was beautiful to see off in the distance Badlands National Park.
Finally, I wanted to share a photo of a beautiful sunset that I captured tonight while driving back to Martin on Hisle Road. The view was captivating. It made me stop to get out of the vehicle and soak it in. Isn't it interesting how God uses a new canvas each day so that we can admire the beauty of His Creation as the day progresses? It's what I like about South Dakota. It has infinite beauty. As your elected senator, I will do what I can to ensure that pristine beauty remains intact while maintaining proper development and growth in our state. God bless.
