The End of an Era for Bennett County High School (1937-2024). May It Rest in Peace.

Good afternoon District 27. As I was walking to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church for mass today, I couldn’t believe what I saw before my very eyes: the old Bennett County High School being demolished. Check out the posted photos below.

It took many weeks and months to build that school brick by brick and within one day, it all came down with a blow of track hoe with a grappler attached. The many students who walked the halls of this school walked away equipped with skills and memories that were wholesome, virtuous, and grounded in truth. Many of these students who attended the old Bennett County High School now serve as excellent role models for our community and uphold these values that were passed down to them while in a classroom or on a practice field of our school. The destruction of the old Bennett County High School is in many ways a reminder of what divides us as a country and state. Do we want to cherish, promote, and teach that which is wholesome, good, and true or do we want to be led by a mob who wants to take over our state and country with unbridled rights and responsibilities to rule the day and who desires to destroy what is good, beautiful, and true by undermining those value that we cherish here in South Dakota? That is what is at stake in this election and is the reason why I am running for state senate. I could no longer be complacent and stand on the sidelines while this country is ripped apart by those who hate this country and who want to change our way of life here in South Dakota.

This November I will be voting to uphold the values that are important to South Dakotans: Faith in God (good, beauty, and truth), family values, patriotic devotion to our country, the rule of law and order, protection for the unborn, our property rights, and our freedoms guaranteed under the Constitution. Enjoy your Friday. God bless.
